After a thrilling & chaotic start to the year up in the East, we are now moving to the West to visit our South American competitors on their opening day. After some crazy roster moves with some even being finalized days before the event, we have our eight teams competing in what will hopefully be the start of another great year in South America. Let's see how our eight teams got here first before we get into the real action.
South America Monthly Qualifiers Recap
Our top team from this region LOUD had a pretty easy road to qualify only dropping one set all day. The same can be said about our second best team SKCalalas SA who also only dropped one set all day. Pretty standard stuff, but then we get to what happened between New Heights Gaming VS. Olimpo Squad. NHG was up 2-0 and had two chances to qualify from Winners, but Olimpo pulled off a reverse sweep and qualified. NHG would qualify from Losers not long after, but it's never a good feeling to get reverse swept to start off the season.
Bounty Hunters had to start their season in Day 1 originally before their seeding was fixed the following day. They're very fortunate they got seeded correctly as it led them to dropping only one set to Eternal in the Qualifiers and advancing from the Winners side. Eternal would later qualify and we will be getting a newcomer in Sonhadores which is always nice to see. We almost didn't get to see Tufa's team Ninguem Segura as they were down 2-0 against a pretty decent group in Los Chicos, but they pulled off the comeback and clawed their way to the Monthly Finals.

Last Minute Rostermania Madness
With just about a week left before the season started, it seemed like every roster was set in stone. Mohtep was ready to play another year with Pekka and Kristian was ready to help Eternal with their own playoff push. Then all of a sudden, drama ensued with Mohtep apparently being kicked and wanting Eternal to have Kristian join them. After some time, the two teams came to an agreement and now Pekka will be playing with two Chilean stars at SKC while Mohtep will be plotting his revenge throughout the season until they meet up again in a Monthly Final. Both teams should be playoff contenders this year, but we'll see who really ends up winning this player swap by season's end.
Is This Olimpo's Breakout Year?
Last year, this trio teamed up during the Summer Split and managed to get in a position where all they needed was for things to go their way in the August Monthly Finals. If they beat BC* Gaming, they would've likely snuck their way into the LCQ. After a back and forth game, they came up one game short and their season ended in heartbreak. This year however, things are expected to change with this being IceCrow's second full year in competitive and him teaming up with Brabao & Golden for another year. Their goal will not only be making it to a Grand Finals this year, but also make their debut in a Global LAN setting. Olimpo believes in them and they have shown to be a playoff contender so there is hope that this could be the breakout season we've been hoping they would have last year.
A LOUD & Proud Group
LOUD's first year in the Brawl Esports scene was a huge success! They got a match win over Tribe at the Brawl Cup, got a popular fanbase supporting them both online and at LANs (especially the LCQ) and they managed to finally win not just one but two World Finals matches to finish the year in the Top 8. Thanks to this group, a region was revived and given some more respect even though their final Worlds match ended in heartbreaking fashion. They plan on making this year even better bringing back the old core and making them the favorites to finish the year on top of South America again, but it did come at the cost of Role suddenly retiring and joining HMBLE as a content creator. We'll see if they can run it back for another year and get another chance at a deep World Finals run.
Predictions Time
While East Asia & EMEA didn't exactly go the best for us in terms of our predictions, we're pretty confident with the picks our team made for this event. We will be bringing in Lucky along with three experts to help you make the best predictions possible. Big thanks to Zurita Gang Manager Kaiki, BSER Owner Chimdos and Johahnchen for making their picks for this event. One thing we all seem to agree on is that LOUD will win and be crowned your champions. Kaiki has New Heights Gaming going on a Grand Finals run while Chimdos is a big believer in Eternal. Lucky & Johahnchen made the same predictions which should be the safer bets, but anything pretty much goes with how chaotic it was last week.

Do you think LOUD will reign supreme again, or will they be seeking a new threat to take down this year? It all goes down on February 21st @ 19:00 UTC!
