New stars Guesti and Battoman impressed this weekend.

This weekend, the BSC 2026 season finally kicked off with two of the most competitive regions putting on a spectacle in their respective Monthly Finals. So, here’s a recap of all the action in case you missed it!

ZETA's Dominance Prevails

In East Asia, ZETA DIVISION reminded us of what they’re capable of. After their disappointing run at the World Finals, they needed to reaffirm that they’re still competing at the highest level.

Their first match was against Effort Result, a team that did not pose a major threat to the Japanese powerhouse. After a 3–0 sweep, ZETA secured the win and advanced to the semifinals. In the second match, we had a battle between the promising roster of SKCalalas EA and the underdogs from Rival Esports. Coming into the series SKC were deemed the favorites to take the win, but instead gave us the first upset of the year.

Rival Esports, whose only well-known player on the roster is Ryohei, swept SKC to prove their doubters wrong and secured the rookies a spot in the semifinals.

The third match also delivered an unexpected outcome. REJECT faced WWL, a Korean team of free agents, and were considered the favorites due to their results last season and at the World Finals. During the first half of the series, REJECT lived up to expectations, taking a 2–0 lead in what already seemed like a certain victory. Little did they know that things were just getting started, as WWL began to pull off a reverse sweep, winning game after game.

Last but not least, the reigning World Champions played their first match against F/A ABC, the winner of the Preseason Icebreaker. Against all odds, ABC defeated Crazy Raccoon, winning three sets in a row and finishing with a 3–1 score in their favor.

In the semifinals, ZETA faced Rival Esports. Even though Rival were a surprise in the quarterfinals, they couldn’t stop Sitetampo and his teammates, who nearly secured a perfect sweep for ZETA.

Then we had the battle of the free agents: WWL versus ABC. Despite the Korean roster fighting back, ABC’s imminent victory could not be stopped, and they made their way into the grand finals.

Finally, the top two teams in East Asia faced each other this month. ZETA DIVISION claimed Hot Zone with amazing plays from Sitetampo on Frank. Then Bounty went to ABC after three close games, but they couldn’t keep up the pace from that point forward. ZETA won Gem Grab and Brawl Ball to close out the series, not losing a single game in those sets, and claimed the title of February East Asia Monthly Final Champions.

The question now in people’s minds is: Will ZETA dominance be challenged by any other team or will they continue to take the top seed in their region?

A New Dynasty is Born

To kick off the action in EMEA, the top seed from 2025, SK Gaming, faced the Serbian prodigies F/A CMM in what seemed to be a clear win for the German org. In an unexpected turn of events, CMM took a 2–0 lead, nearly crushing SK in their 2026 debut. SK attempted a reverse sweep, but it was denied in the final game of Heist.

Following that huge upset, we had one of the most anticipated matches of the month: Team Heretics vs. FUT Esports. Guesti showed his potential in his BSC debut, dominating the match for the vast majority of the time and securing a 3–1 victory over the Spanish team.

The third match was difficult to watch, not because of the gameplay, but due to technical issues with the broadcast. Despite that, HMBLE maintained their momentum against BIG, claiming an easy victory to advance to the semifinals.

To close out the quarterfinals, Drage faced the team he had coached on the world stage: NAVI vs. Reply Totem. It was a match that had many fans wondering about the potential of both teams. The Italian squad took the lead after several very close games, eventually winning 3–1.

The first semifinal of the day was between CMM and FUT, where the Serbian roster’s underdog run was ended by the dominance of the Turkish org in a clean sweep. In the last semifinal, we saw the Italian derby between HMBLE and Reply Totem. After close set after close set and amazing plays from Totem, HMBLE secured a 3–0 sweep to reach the EMEA Grand Finals once again.

The final match featured a rising FUT Esports against the always strong HMBLE for the championship title. HMBLE took the first set in Hot Zone, threatening to end FUT’s run, but FUT had no intention of losing the match.

FUT took Bounty and Gem Grab without dropping a single game, giving HMBLE no room to breathe. The final set was Brawl Ball, where FUT fought for the win while the 2024 World Champions fought to force another set. Despite their efforts, FUT secured the victory, earning Guesti, EMEA’s most anticipated rookie, his first Monthly Finals title in his first official tournament.

With such a promising start, will Guesti continue to live up to the expectations placed on him? Will the rest of the top teams be able to reclaim their spot at the top?
