SKC and ETN had already announced their rosters for the 2026 season.

Heavy rumors are circulating in South America with another off-season shock just days before the championship challenge: SKCalalas SA and Eternal may swap players heading into the 2026 season. Sources suggest that SKC is looking to buy out the contract of 2025 player “Kristian” to rejoin the organization and join longtime teammate Rhz, while Brazilian icon Raul “Mohtep” Souza will slot into ETN alongside former teammate Jubileu.

Duos Reunited and Broken…

Despite both teams announcing their signings for the 2026 season already, the situation has quickly descended into madness as of January 28th, with no changes being confirmed yet as the organizations negotiate the changes. With Rhz retained for 2026, Pekka and Mohtep joined the ranks of SKC after a heartbreaking reverse sweep loss in their LCQ Golden Ticket match to end their 2025 season. The duo has been competing since 2023 and was expected to continue for its fourth year of competition together in SA, but it seems that the team has decided a change is needed surprisingly late into the off-season.

This roster swap will reunite Kristian with Rhz. The duo first played together in 2022 under Vatra Gaming SA, continuing into 2023 with Reconic Esports SA. Despite a break in 2024 where Rhz played with Team Queso and Kristian with Marruecos, they reunited in 2025 under SKCalalas and dominated South America, winning three Monthly Finals and attending their first World Finals as the second seed in the region. While not as iconic, the swap would also reunite Mohtep and Jubileu, who played throughout 2024 and part of 2025 together on CASA Brawl.

A Preseason Upset

While the true reasoning behind this supposed swap remains shrouded in mystery, rumors have suggested an internal rift between Pekka and Mohtep that resulted in this change prior to the beginning of the season. SKC suffered an embarrassing loss to start the 2026 season at the South America Preseason Icebreaker where they were reverse swept by Eternal, winning two incredibly close sets to kick off the series but losing six games in a row on match point to exit the event in joint last place. While four of the five modes played were not in the competitive map pool, SKC still felt that this loss was a tipping point.

The team has overall looked strong in the off season with a second place finish at Supremacy League S1: South America, winning a back and forth 3-2 over regional rivals LOUD in the lower finals before ultimately falling short in the grand finals to cracked youngsters Creche Brawl (Loosely translated as “Brawl Daycare”) in another five-set affair.

If finalized, the two clubs would trade players ahead of the first Monthly Qualifiers, moving SKC’s pre-season seeding to 2nd place with two members from their 2025 core, while Eternal would drop to 5th. With posts already circulating from two members of Eternal’s roster, it seems that this change is very likely to become reality, pending discussion from the organizations in regards to buyouts and contract transfers.
