Summer is finally here and we are ready to kick off the next Monthly Finals in the South American region! In case you haven’t been paying attention to this region in the past month or so, don’t worry because we’ll be covering pretty much everything you need to know heading into this Monthly Final. Rosters changed, teams signed with new orgs and one of the best teams in this region so far is without an org for the time being. Oh yeah there’s also a North American player vacationing here during the summer, but more on that later. Let’s waste no more time and see who qualified for the Summer Opener.

Bounty Hunters VS. OCX Division
South America’s most consistent and current best team in the region is looking to continue doing what they do best. The Bounty Hunters are looking to keep their streak of finishing in the Top 2 of their region alive, but there’s a chance they might have some tougher competition later down the line. Breezing through the Qualifiers like they usually do, the Bounty Hunters are heading into the Monthly Finals as a favorite to take it all once more and get closer to securing a World Finals spot.
OCX Division is a new name in the Monthly Finals scene with a familiar roster who won a match under the Elevate name back in March. This roster had their woes in April as they were unable to qualify for the Monthly Finals then, but now they’re back and looking to keep their postseason hopes alive. They will be taking on a tough foe in the first round, but they are familiar with beating some former Bounty Hunters in the past.
GLXY Gaming VS. SKCalalas SA
Once considered a pretty good contender to compete for a postseason spot, this roster was starting to lose hope after they failed to win a single match in all three of their Monthly Finals appearances. But then, someone with ice in their veins came to save their season in the name of IceCrow. So far they have done nothing but win together which included them getting a nice sweep against LOUD in the Qualifiers this month. Things seem to be turning around for this newly signed group at the right time, but how long will that last?
Well, SKCalalas SA will do what they can to make sure GLXY’s sudden hope gets sucked up by a black hole. Things weren’t going so well with them to start the year with things not quite working out between them and Pekka. So out he went and in came a man looking for a new challenge coming from the north. The Kit Mastermind you all know and love is moving South for the Summer as Juan Carlos will be making his debut in the region. Hopefully it’ll be enough to save their season.
Pizza Congelada F/A VS. Acre Lovers
The Brawl Cup wasn’t so kind to our beloved Brazilian roster as they weren’t able to do anything spectacular, winning only a single set all tournament. Coming home, they were left without an org as Eternal decided to part ways with the group and left this roster alone eating frozen pizzas all day. Despite having a pretty good lead ahead of the rest of the region, they still have a lot of work to do as fumbling a Monthly Final or two could mean an opportunity for teams below them to take advantage and steal their potential Worlds spot. We’ll see if they’ll have a good day or if it’ll be another showing like in March.
The Acre Lovers have returned to their third straight Monthly Final this year, albeit with new member Lipizin added to their group with Sennin joining OCX a few weeks ago. They are once again being paired with another team in the Top 2 which is a little unfortunate for them, but there is always a chance their opponent could be off their game as shown in March and the Brawl Cup. It’s not totally out of the question to see the Acre Lovers make it a contest so we’ll see if they can last long enough with Pizza Congelada in hopes of them thawing out.
Olimpo Squad VS. LOUD
The rematch that marks the start of a new era for Olimpo as a roster change was made to try and get them over the hump of finishing better than Top 4. This squad will be running it back with a veteran Brazilian player in Pekka who will be replacing IceCrow in hopes of getting back to his winning ways as one of the best in his region. So far their new addition has been working out and they look to be in great shape heading into the Monthly Finals, but their opponent will be bloodthirsty for revenge after what they did to them back in April.
If you remember what happened to LOUD at the end of the Spring Split, you remember their drafting game being quite questionable considering they still had a chance to qualify for the Brawl Cup. While they do remain in position to claim the lone LCQ spot in the region, they have very little wiggle room to mess up from here on out as one brutal month could put them in a tough position to come back from. With a familiar foe as their first target, LOUD look to take back control of the South and they will do anything in their power to make sure nobody blocks their path. Especially the Ex-ETN roster.
Predictions

Lucky's Notes
Not gonna lie, it might be kind of tough to determine who is worthy of claiming 1st this month. The Quarter Finals are kinda easy with two pretty easy matchups for BH & PZA, but the other two I could see end either way. My personal picks would be GLXY and LOUD though just like the majority of our predictors say. I still think the Bounty Hunters will make the Grand Finals, but their opponent is who I’m unsure about. I’m going against the public and will be taking LOUD over PZA and I hope this match comes down to the wire. As much as I would love to take LOUD all the way, that didn’t go so well the last few times I predicted that so I’ll take the safer route with the Bounty Hunters. GLXY & Olimpo I feel have a chance to maybe cause an upset and maybe sneak into the Grand Finals if you want to be bold.
