South America August Monthly Final Bracket

Things are getting heated up in the finale down in the south. With the Playoff Seed on the line for Worlds as well as the only remaining LCQ spot from this region, it’s time for these teams to give it their all in the last regular season event of the year. As the most unpredictable region, will we get the chance to see even more chaos like we saw last month? Possibly with the way all teams have been playing and drafting lately. Buckle up because this post and this event are about to get crazy good!

South America August Monthly Final Qualified Teams

Bounty Hunters VS. QuieroQueQue

• Let’s just forget the previous month happened and put our attention to this month where Bounty Hunters are still in control of claiming the #1 Seed. SKC really did their number last month and the South American scene is wondering if they’ll show even more cracks in the near future. If they do, they do at least have a bit of leeway as long as the RED Canids don’t finish within the Top 2… which is a likely scenario looking at the scrims. Are the Bounty Hunters truly a team fit to stay at the top, or could this be the beginning of their eventual demise? If the latter is the case, at least they’ll have some time to refresh their minds and prepare themselves for the big event in November, but a second straight poor showing towards the end of the regular season could spark some red flags. Better hope they figured something to make them the team everyone feared all year round.

• Last month this team failed to even show up… literally. They ended up forfeiting their match in the previous Monthly Final due to one of their players not being fully available to compete. The good news is that they got a second chance and will be looking to finally get their only taste of Monthly Final action. The bad news is that they had to get paired with the #1 team in the region. It’s ok. As long as they show up at all, this will be infinitely better than what happened last month.

OCX Division VS. Olimpo Squad

• Although they aren’t able to compete for the lone LCQ spot due to being too far behind, they could at least make a statement that these players could be a serious threat as competition for the foreseeable future. Satisfyer did leave the team unfortunately which did lead to them picking up IceCrow at the last minute who was kicked from his old team who will be competing at Challengers in a few weeks from now. They should still be a pretty good group who could maybe cause a bit of chaos if they’re really feeling it, but they’ll have to face off against an old friend of theirs first.

• Olimpo are within a reasonable distance on the leaderboards to snatch that silver ticket to the LCQ out of LOUD’s hands. As a last ditch effort to save their season, they decided to bring a former player out of the team they’re facing in the Quarter Finals and fit them onto their roster after Pekka left to compete in the Challengers Finals. What they’ll need to do this month is at least finish in the Top 2 which will require defeating Bounty Hunters most likely in the process, but that’s only if LOUD fumble against SKC in the Quarter Finals. If that doesn’t happen, they’ll need to win it all and hope they don’t end up meeting with them in the Grand Finals. Looking at their scrims currently, this seems to be an unlikely scenario. However, you should never underestimate a South American team no matter how bad the situation may be as literally anything can happen in this region. Can this team avoid another mediocre season while missing a postseason spot?

RED Canids VS. Six Seven

• We’ve seen a pattern from RED Canids this year. When they manage to win it all in one month, they’ll flounder and fall apart in the following month, but then get back to winning mode again and this cycle has so far repeated throughout the year (if you don’t include the Brawl Cup). RED Canids have already punched their ticket to Tokyo, but they want that #1 Seed badly. What they’ll need to do to secure it is at the very least finish 2nd this month and hope another Bounty Hunters collapse happens early on. If that doesn’t happen, they’ll have to win the whole tournament this month. Considering they won it all last month, that should mean this month they’ll lose in the Quarter Finals. We’ll see if they can at least break the curse and reclaim the #1 spot they rightfully deserve.

• As the only new challenger competing this weekend, Six Seven have a group of players looking to dash RED’s chances at clinching the top seed in the region. This isn’t everyone’s first appearance of the year as we have seen Nubis compete as a substitute at one point, but Bicho will be making his return to the Monthly Finals for the first time since 2024 and Gods will make his Monthly Final debut. They will definitely have a lot to overcome, but hey we’ve seen lower seeds cause a bit of mayhem from this region before so maybe it’ll happen here.

SKCalalas SA VS. LOUD

• Their season was kept alive after their stunning Quarter Finals match win last month against the Bounty Hunters, but what followed was a heart breaker at the hands of the team standing in the way of destiny. A 2-3 defeat at the hands of LOUD pushed them to the brink of elimination, but they aren’t out yet. SKC still control their own destiny this month despite being quite behind on the leaderboards as all they’ll need to do is simply win the Monthly Finals. The first team to stand in their way however is the same team who blocked them from going on an incredible Finals run in LOUD. They’ll be the first team they’ll have to get past and they can’t stand another defeat from them. Does Juan Carlos have a bit more of that magic he had back in Worlds 2025, or will SKC have to only rely on their Japanese team for the LCQ?

• Still somehow ahead of the rest of the pack (besides the Top 2 Teams), LOUD are looking to secure their trip to the LCQ with one more solid run like last month. Finishing 2nd with a close call in the Semi Finals, LOUD seem to be getting back to their old form ever since Role came out of retirement as a coach and rejoined his former team last month. This month they’ll be looking to finish 2nd again if they want to guarantee themselves an LCQ spot, but even a loss in the Semis or Quarter Finals could keep them in the hunt so long as Olimpo or even SKC don’t go on a deep run to the Finals at least. This is a good sign for LOUD at least in terms of qualifying, but if they want to show they can be a tough foe in the postseason, they’re gonna have to prove they’re worth fighting against this weekend.

Predictions

I don’t see a first round upset happening for our Top 2 teams this month, but the other two Quarter Finals matches should be quite interesting. OCX VS. Olimpo could be a close call, but Olimpo missing Pekka this month and their poor scrim results as of late make me want to take OCX here. SKC VS. LOUD should be another banger like it was the previous month, but I see LOUD as the favorite to win and in this scenario they would clinch the LCQ already. My Finals matchup will be a rematch between Bounty Hunters VS. RED Canids as I don’t think the teams remaining besides maybe LOUD will be able to take down the top two. RED is usually the winner in these head to head matchups and also since they have the best scrim results, I feel it is best to take RED all the way once more and secure the #1 Seed in the region.
