In one of the largest changes of the off season, BSEN has received information that Japanese organization FENNEL is likely to join Brawl Stars for the 2025 season, signing the roster of LEGEND KEN-G.

One of the Japanese Elites

With their entrance into Brawl Esports, FENNEL will become one of the four elite Japanese organizations who have chosen to compete. Alongside ZETA DIVISION, REJECT, and Crazy Raccoon, these organizations have dominated Japanese esports for many years, competing in global titles such as Valorant, League of Legends, and Apex Legends. While FENNEL has not found as much success as its sister organizations listed above, or organizations like DFM or Scarz, they’ve grown into a global brand by pushing the needle towards telling the stories of players and signing equal esports teams, like their Game Changers (GC) roster in Valorant.

Choppy Roads

Since his time on ZETA DIVISION, it’s been a tough road for Achapi. The two time World Champion lifted back to back championships in 2021 and 2022 but found himself set aside as Tensai and Sitetampo reunited in 2023 alongside Moya to form Crazy Raccoon, while fellow 2022 champion Kuru and Z1’s MSI Champion and Worlds runner-up Ken-G joined Melty on Chasmac Gaming EA.

Achapi, left behind, then teamed up with EA veteran Menmi and hot prospect Levi (formerly Yottan) to form REJECT’s first foray into the BSC. They performed well throughout 2023, qualifying to all Monthly Finals and winning two, but they ultimately fell just short to Crazy Raccoon by twenty points. Headed into LCQ, REJECT were clear favorites, given the reign of East Asia in the past two years, but fans of Achapi were in for a shock. Though they made it out of groups, it was as the second seed with a loss to an Angelboy led NAVI team in their winners match. Facing the eventual Worlds runner-ups and LAN demons of STMN in their Golden Ticket match, REJECT crumbled and were swept, ending their season far from the heights of Acahpi’s 2022. Still, it was a respectable performance, and many people chalked it up to unfortunate team draws.

Unfortunately for the East Asian legend, the 2024 and 2025 seasons were only worse. In 2024, Achapi joined the same organization that beat him in 2023, and the same organization he beat in 2021 to claim his first World Championship: NAVI. Levi continued with Achapi as a highlight player from 2023, adding rookie player I See into their ranks who had just made his debut at the end of the 2023 season, replacing Melty on CMG EA. NAVI’s year was plagued with inconsistency. They failed to qualify for the first Monthly Final but went on to dominate April, claiming the title. Another failed Monthly Final qualification resulted in the addition of Sizuku to the active roster, where NAVI did enough to qualify to LCQ as the fourth seed from APAC, just one point above Coco Loco. They placed dead last with group stage losses to Reply Totem and Toxic Lotus, giving China’s first international win in BSC history. 2025 was a similar story for Achapi, as reuniting with Kuru and his 2024 duo Ryohei from Nai Dug was not enough to make Worlds once again. They were consistently making Monthly Finals, but they won zero, and once again fell at LCQ with a group stage loss to Reply Totem and a golden ticket match loss to EMEA underdogs Papara Supermassive, swept aside to end Achapi’s season again.

A Surprise Debut

Reunited with I See for the first time since 2024 and joined by legendary player Ken-G who is making his return to competition, LEGEND KEN-G surprised many with a first place debut at the Preseason Icebreaker in East Asia, reverse sweeping the reigning world champions Crazy Raccoon in the semifinals. While they were not playing game modes in the competitive map pool, I See still showed a great level of mechanical skill that could promise a return to form for the former legends.

FENNEL’s roster could be:

🇯🇵 Achapi

🇯🇵 Ken-G

🇯🇵 I See
