[BSEN] Introducing Rankings 1.0 + Code: BSEN

Welcome back, BSC fans. Over the past half a year of operation, we have been hard at work, committed to bringing YOU a better BSEN experience. When we launched bsen.news at the beginninng of the year, we knew it was just the start of something special, but only a fraction of its potential. Today, I'm excited to announce a fresh BSEN site. It's the same style ofBSC content you love with a cleaner, modern feel. Additionally, we're excited to announce two new projects, the first being Rankings 1.0!

RANKINGS 1.0

Now live as a beta feature, our newest addition is Rankings 1.0, a revamped Global Power Rankings system. You've seen Lucky84's BrawlCap GPR system throughout this year, but we've rebuilt the system from the ground up. In collaboration with BSER, we're launching Rankings 1.0 as a new way to rate and explore your favorite teams in the context of global strength.

The new formula includes a variety of factors:

Context of Play

Bigger events matter more.
Internationals LANs are valued over Monthly Finals, Monthly Finals are valued over Monthly Qualifiers, and so on.
Gives a better picture of the stakes of a match - You're awarded more points for winning matches later on in tournaments

Recent Performances

Recent matches hold more weight for ranking than old ones
Allows teams to be impacted by older performances, but evaluated more properly in the present.

Margin of Victory

The easier your match win is, the more elo you'll earn.
Sweeps are better than double match points, and this reflects on team strength

Strength of Opponent

Strength of opponent relative to the GPR will matter for your points earned
Winning against a lower ranked opponent will earn less points than a higher ranked one
Are you an underdog? Earn lots of points for winning a match with the odds against you, and vice versa.

Regional Power Multiplier

With the conclusion of Brawl Cup, we've implemented a better Regional Power Multiplier.
EMEA > APAC > NA > SA > CN

Rankings 1.0 is a feature still in development, and we expect it to evolve over time as more data becomes available. View global or regional power rankings with roster lineups and other team data available at the click of a button.

CODE: BSEN

After over 5 years of serving the BSC community, BSEN has joined the Creator program. We are excited to launch Code BSEN, a creator code that allows you to support us for free by entering it at checkout in the in-game shop or at store.supercell.com when making a purchase.

BSEN remains committed to high-quality Brawl Esports news as a not for profit press operation. Creator Code revenue will help us subsidize operational costs that have been hosted out of pocket, fund exciting projects like physical magazine copies (as seen at last year's World Finals), host higher quality pre-LAN tournaments, and more.
