[NA] BrawlCap July Monthly Final Preview & Predictions

It’s finally time for North America to shine. Even though there have been plenty of eyes on the region as of late. A pretty predictable outcome occurred for the most part during the Qualifiers, but the one thing on everyone’s mind has been bobby as not only was his team not able to qualify becoming the first Brawl Cup team from the four main regions to not do so this year, but by also announcing this will be his final year playing competitive. Well there was some recent news about his former org getting suspended, but we’re not here to talk about that in detail. We’re here to talk about the teams who did qualify so let’s get right to previewing and predicting!

Tribe Gaming VS. Momo
Surely this is the month for Tribe right? Is this the Monthly Final where they’ll break the curse and bring home a Monthly Final championship? Looking at their half of the bracket it looks like they’ll be at least able to make a smooth run to the Grand Finals, but it’s that dreaded Grand Finals match they just can’t win. Maybe this time they’ll be able to have more prep time for that final match because I don’t know how many more silver medals this team can take. Well, there would at least be an upside to them finishing 2nd again as that’s the minimum placement they’ll need to have a shot at clinching a trip to Tokyo. If they face Elektros in the Finals, they’ll clinch a Worlds spot. If they face Vatic, they have to defeat them in order to clinch Worlds. No pressure Tribe!
The veterans of NA have returned and are looking to cause some mayhem. They have technically proven they still have some juice left to compete at a high level with a huge win over Vic Day and keeping it interesting against Vatic in the Winners Bracket. OG and secondbest will be helping out their newest teammate Sunnyy get his first Monthly Final match win of his career in a high stakes match. If all things go south for this group, at least we’ll have the chance of seeing their kitty mascot Momo on cam.
F/A Homeless VS. Vic Day
A brutal month of not qualifying in June definitely harmed this homeless group in the battle for the lone LCQ spot in the region. With pretty much nothing to lose now, this team will be doing their best to try and go out on a high note and maybe cause a little chaos in the process if they’re in the mood. Maybe with the addition of Rafiki taking over Xemp’s role things will get better. They did technically beat Bobby this month and qualify for Winners so maybe they could be onto something this month. If not, it’s back to the cardboard box for these guys.
Things are going peacefully well for Vic Day for the most part. They don’t have much pressure on them to perform well considering they’re already locked in for Challengers and likely won’t have to worry about performing well in this event. They also managed to go on a nice Losers Bracket run which included sending Bobby one step closer to the retirement home. Even if the odds were heavily stacked against them, they would be sitting pretty comfortably in their current position. Although it would be nice for them to finally get their first Monthly Final match win before they head out to Turkey in a month. It’s time for them to take care of the true homeless team and end their regular season on a somewhat high note.
Team Elektros VS. David’s Aura
So it seems like their defeat back in April was just a mere fluke as Team Elektros managed to win their second Monthly Final of the year back in June. They’re back once again and are hungry to secure another Monthly Final championship in the books. They also have an opportunity to not only secure a trip to their first LAN event in their young careers, but by also rizzing up all the Japanese girls in Tokyo with their impeccable gameplay. They’re looking like the favorites to steal another title away from Tribe and Vatic, but let’s see if that actually becomes the case. Their road to Worlds is simply to win it all which is something they should be very much capable of pulling off… right?
Can you sense the aura? Sadly it isn’t coming from LeNain, but instead it’s coming from David and his posse of young talent in GN and Razuen who is finally making his Monthly Final debut this year. The aura squad is looking at a literal David VS. Goliath situation where they’ll have to take on the favorites to win the entire event in Team Elektros. These giants have fallen in the past, but we all know it’ll take a lot of effort to bring them to their knees again. Will David and his men be able to take down this Goliath?
Vatic VS. Legacy Esports
This is the perfect opportunity for Vatic to strike on their journey to claiming an LCQ spot. Still several points behind F/A Bobby, they’ll need to make a Grand Finals appearance this month if they want to jump ahead of the non-qualified Bobby roster. There are a couple of teams blocking their path and they are Legacy roster who spooked them last month taking them to a Set 5 and Team Elektros who has gotten in their way at every opportunity so far this year. The good news is that they look like they’re in good shape according to their scrims, but we all know Team Elektros are on a different level on game day. Another defeat against TE won’t be the end of the world, but a win against them would give them the advantage heading into the final month of the season. Will they take that advantage, or will they take the hard route once more?
Legacy are going up against a familiar foe in the Quarter Finals once more, but this time they decided to make a little roster change before the event started. Rafiki is out and Xemp is taking his place in hopes of keeping their playoff hopes alive while on life support. This could very likely be the end of their season if they don’t manage to cause an upset here. We’ve seen them pull it off before back in April, but will they synergize well with their new teammate? The clock is ticking for Legacy and I don’t mean the draft clock they’ll see several times in game this weekend.
Predictions

Lucky's Notes
Like last month, this Monthly Final just be pretty easy to predict for the most part. Tribe Gaming will almost certainly make another run to the Grand Finals looking at their bracket and the matchup between Homeless & Vic Day could be interesting, but I’d say Vic is the better team in this matchup. Team Elektros VS. Vatic should be another predictable Semis matchup with me hoping it will actually be a bit closer this time, but it’s hard to not take TE in this situation. The Finals I hope will be a bit more interesting than last time in a Tribe VS. TE rematch, but I expect TE to be the favorites once more. It just doesn’t seem like Tribe are having the greatest time in scrims lately and to me that doesn’t feel like they’ll be capable of winning it all. At least in this scenario both teams will clinch Worlds, but I’m hoping the matches look more interesting than the EMEA Quarter Finals we saw last week.
