North America August Monthly Final Bracket

We’ve reached the end game folks! The North America Monthly Finals are finally here and we will be determining our seeding for the World Finals for the Top 2 teams and who will be getting the final silver ticket to the LCQ. Four Teams will be battling to strengthen their postseason resume while the other four teams look to put blemishes on those resumes and potentially cause some heartbreak. This will surely be a fire event to cap things off for the regular season so let’s do a deep dive on this grand finale before the postseason begins!

North America August Monthly Final Qualified Teams

Team Elektros VS. Utopia

• You simply can’t beat this team. It’s been near impossible for the entire split so far with their closest they’ve been to defeat being a close call against Vatic last month. This month they will not only be looking to continue their perfect Summer Season, but also potentially lock up the Playoff seed for the World Finals. They should once again be the favorites to win the entire event, but Vatic will be in their way again which should surely be a great test to see if they are capable of remaining the top team in NA. Their goal to secure the 1 Seed will be to finish as good as or even better than Tribe this month. Can they do it, or will something go wrong in the pressure filled finale just like in the Spring?

• Utopia has returned for the second time this split and look to finish the year looking like they could be a pretty decent group to look forward to playing in the future. They did have a couple of hiccups during the Qualifiers, but their finale match in the Lower Bracket was pretty free for them. They did unfortunately get paired with the best team in the region, but at least they’re getting some more top level practice out of this.

Vatic VS. Legacy Esports

• It has been quite an unfortunate year for Vatic as they could potentially be the only team to win a Monthly Final this year and not compete in the postseason, but they’ll make sure to give it their all in their last chance to sneak into the postseason. KDS not qualifying last month did help Vatic out a bit, but a missed opportunity to beat Elektros last month was a huge blow to their postseason hopes. Now they’ll have to finish this month ahead of KDS which from the look at their bracket might seem pretty challenging. Elektros will meet them in the Semis once more, but they could get their revenge and finally take them out once for all. Many times have they fallen to Elektros, but could this be the moment they break that curse?

• This will be another year where Zoulan misses out on a LAN event, but at least we’ll get one last chance to see him, Zeus and Xemp in action together. Legacy have always been looked at as an underdog in months past and this was especially true when they became the second of two teams to defeat the now unbeatable Team Elektros roster which also resulted in that same team to not qualify for the Brawl Cup. Legacy now are in another situation where they could crush someone else’s dream of attending a LAN this year with Vatic as their first opponent. Could they be the season killers once more and crush the hopes of Vatic? It’s kinda unlikely, but then again we did say this about them against Elektros back in April.

Tribe Gaming VS. Momo

• It’s official that we will be seeing them again at the World Finals in hopes of getting a chance to get on a good run like they did at the Brawl Cup earlier this year. However, there is still one thing this team hasn’t quite accomplished yet that they will be aiming for and that’s to win a Monthly Final for once. They’ve been consistently good all year, but have never been able to get the job done together in the finale. This time there will be some stakes with the #1 Seed in the region on the line where Tribe will have to finish better than Team Elektros if they don’t want to get paired with Crazy Raccoon in their group at Worlds again. Hopefully this will be their month they can finally win it all, but looking at their scrims that might seem like a bit of a tall order to accomplish.

• Everyone’s favorite logo in North America will be shown to the public once more this month as OG, Sunnyy and daddy secondbest have made their return to another Monthly Final, but their road to making it here wasn’t easy in the slightest. They ended up coming close to getting eliminated by Kathy’s sister (yes it’s our NA predictor’s sister if you’re wondering) and David’s Aura put them on the brink of elimination, but a last second moment on Layer Cake ultimately put them over the edge. Now they’ll have to face the team that sent them to the Losers Bracket in the first place in a nice little rematch. We’ll see if they can keep it a bit closer than their 3-1 defeat from them last time.

KDS Esports VS. F/A Homeless

• It’s The Last Dance for bobby and Patchy and they’ll both be looking to keep their final season alive by securing the LCQ spot they currently possess. Returning under the org they first called home to start the year, KDS will be doing whatever they can to return to their old form after a devastating collapse last month that put them in a dangerous situation. One team stands behind them in the silver ticket race, but the good news is that KDS have the easier path as all they’ll need to win is finish better than or equal to Vatic. A shame we won’t see them duke it out until possibly the finale. The fans would like this epic clash to happen, but KDS will simply be looking to extend their season just a bit longer before sans has to watch his friends ride off into the sunset. Can they keep this season alive, or will we be seeing the end of an era a bit sooner than we’d all like?

• They might be homeless and orgless, but that doesn't mean this team can’t put up a fight. We saw what this team could do against Vic Day last month who will now be competing in Challengers, but this homeless roster might honestly be the most underrated team in the entire event. There is some hope that these guys can pull off an upset with how well these three seemingly click together. KDS will certainly be a tough foe for them, but they’ve gotten close to beating them before with their old core back in March. With what’s at stake for KDS and with how decent Homeless have been performing in scrims, there’s a chance we could see them pull off the upset.

Predictions

Lucky's Notes

This region has gotten quite predictable as of late, but I don’t really see every Quarter Finals match being a free pick. Elektros and Tribe should have easy matchups and I see Vatic being favorites to defeat Legacy, but for some reason I think KDS VS. Homeless could be closer than some might think. KDS is still my pick, but I see this coming down to the wire. Team Elektros VS. Vatic should be another banger matchup I could see end either way, but it’s really hard to go against Elektros with another dominant scrim win rate. The dream Finals matchup would be Vatic VS. KDS, but I think we’ll get another Elektros VS. Tribe Finals. Yes I’m going to be boring and take Elektros to win it all for a third straight month, but it’s hard not to take them with how unstoppable they’ve been looking lately.
