East Asia finally claimed the trophy for the first time since 2022 with Crazy Raccoon winning it all with the greatest postseason run of all time. Now is the time to keep the trophy in Asia and that can definitely happen with the roster moves that were made. This post will cover eight teams from Asia including five exciting Japanese teams, two Chinese teams with some promise and the surprise team of Worlds in Revenant XSpark as the lone rep from SEA + South Asia.
Crazy Raccoon - Milkreo, Moya, Tensai
After finally claiming their first World Championship and making Tensai end the GOAT debate for a good while, Crazy Raccoon will be running it back another year to defend their title. I'm not expecting them to be the best team heading into the regular season, especially considering they haven't made the Grand Finals in almost a year at this point. However, I do believe this team will become a much bigger threat when the postseason begins. It won't be easy, but nobody said claiming the trophy was free.
ZETA DIVISION - Battoman*, Sitetampo, Sizuku
Pain is all that can be described after going from a dominant regular season to not even make it past the first day of Worlds. While drafting was a key issue in their defeats, a roster shakeup was needed which resulted in Levi parting ways with them. Battoman from REJECT had a promising return to the scene so hopefully he is able to replicate that success. They should still be a team to watch out for, but I wouldn't exactly call them championship caliber until they prove they can work together well and dominate in the regular season like they did last year.
ACCEPT* - Levi, Melty, Shu
While the 2nd place finish in the region was nice to see, it was a bit suspect knowing that they had some pretty easy opponents en route to multiple Grand Finals appearances. It showed in the postseason when they got bested by LOUD and eventually Totem at Worlds. While Melty & Shu will be sticking together for another year, Battoman & Levi decided to swap teams so Levi will be their new third for the season. We’ll see if this change will be enough to get them back in the postseason, but they’re gonna have to prove they can beat the top teams in their region.
Legend Ken-G - Achapi, I see, Ken-G
Outside of the possible Top 3 teams in the region, we have a couple of teams who could maybe keep up with the competition this year. After falling short of qualifying for Worlds, I see remains the lone wolf with Mameshi's retirement and Terry's move to Europe. Melty was considering joining at one point, but balked at them at the last minute. Instead he'll now be joining forces with two time World Champion Achapi and former 2022 Worlds runner-up Ken-G. Not sure if they'll exactly be a playoff caliber team, but this could be a good year for I see to get some experience with legends of the past.
SKCalalas EA - Ghost T, Kuru, Naipishu
Ooh here's a unique roster that could be something special this year. Kuru overall had a decent year, but parting ways with his old teammates was the smart move considering their LCQ run last year. This year he'll be mentoring two rising stars from Japan. Ghost T who missed out on all of 2025, but showed some flashes that he can compete in this scene in 2024. Naipishu is coming off of a breakout performance with ZETA after going 9-0 with them in August as Sitetampo's substitute. Definitely a MUST WATCH team with so much potential to make it to the postseason.
Toxic Lotus - Engine, OU, TOC
The Brawl Cup showed that this team and region can compete with the best, but you can definitely tell the nerves were getting to them at the LCQ. I do believe they can make a push for their first Worlds appearance since 2023, but they will likely have to prove to us again at the Brawl Cup to make sure that 4th place finish from last year wasn't just a one time thing. If they perform well there, they might have a chance at returning to Worlds as long as their run in the LCQ doesn't overwhelm them too much.
LOR - Fengou, Lightstar, Sodaa
The final team we’ll cover here is another promising roster from China. These three played pretty well together in the China Finals with only Toxic Lotus besting them in the end. While they did unfortunately get three tough teams in their group and were eliminated in Day 1 at the LCQ, they definitely could’ve done something if they were thrown in with a different group. With all three returning together for a full year this time, they should be in the running to sneak back in the LCQ and get a shot at redemption.
Revenant XSpark* - Hiroshii, Sergeant, X9Jay
Even though they finished in the Top 4 at Worlds and were the only team to defeat the eventual World Champions in the postseason, the BSE gods showed no mercy to their region and only gave them one LCQ slot. While I do believe they should be able to claim it with ease, it still sucks to see they likely will have to claw their way to Worlds from the LCQ again. I think this is still doable for them, but it still sucks. We'll see if Hiroshii can be a good enough replacement for Response since he decided to call it a career.
