[EMEA] BrawlCap July Monthly Finals Preview & Predictions

It’s that time of month again in Europe! We have a whole lot of stuff to cover in this region with another chaotic day of Qualifiers. We have teams like BIG qualifying from the Winners side again, a new unexpected challenger attempting to make a comeback and a very chaotic lower half of the bracket that could literally be decided by a coin flip (or the Spoo prediction method as we like to call it). As much as we’d like to cover every little detail about these qualifiers, let’s focus on our eight teams competing this month and see who is on the verge of heading to Tokyo… or China or Turkey depending on their situation.

HMBLE VS. FUT Academy
Let’s forget last month’s performance ever happened because it was definitely the ugliest HMBLE has played all year. Falling to FUT in the Semi Finals by not winning a single game, the Brawl Cup champs are simply looking to find their stride again so they can get back on top and be a legit threat at the World Finals. Speaking of which, they’ve already punched their ticket to Tokyo and will simply be building their resume in the final two months and maybe snatch the 1st place spot on the leaderboards from FUT. They will have to come across them once more in the Semi Finals and if they lose to them again, it might be time to forget about the top seed in EMEA and instead focus on the long grind for Worlds. Hopefully they put up more of a fight this time.
FUT Academy makes their return after another close call in the Losers Bracket, but this time they were able to secure probably their biggest win of the year by sending Kumalazawesta to the Losers Bracket in a major upset. Sadly they weren’t able to fend off against Kozaki in another close match, but they are finally back and look to get some more reps in as they prepare for the Turkey Challengers event happening in a couple of weeks from now. It will be very tough to take down a team of Champions and a comeback to snatch an LCQ spot is pretty much unlikely at this point, but the good news is that they are favored to win their Challengers event so this might not be the last time we see this group compete this year.
Kozaki VS. FUT Esports
Well well well look who is finally making their return to the Monthly Finals. Kozaki makes their BSC 2026 debut with a roster consisting of some solid Ukrainian prodigies as well as Mebius who is making an attempt at a comeback with his new teammates after many failed attempts. This however did come at the cost of Fade failing the Fair Play Check and now needing to find a new player to sub in for them. Who else but the substitute king LeNain to come and help save the day! It will certainly be interesting to see how this will play out, but it will be more interesting to see if he’ll be able to take down the team he helped make the Finals at the Brawl Cup.
Domination. That’s all you can really need to say to describe FUT’s season as they have yet to finish outside of the Top 2 in any BSC event this year. Last month was more of the same from this group where they just dominated everybody except in the Qualifiers against NOVO. This month is looking pretty identical with FUT looking like the favorites to win this Monthly Final again and coming from the Losers Bracket after suffering a close defeat at the hands of BIG. They will very likely meet HMBLE again in the Semi Finals and a win against them will secure them the #1 spot on the EMEA leaderboards regardless of how they perform in the last Monthly Final of the year so there is at least something on the line for FUT.
NOVO Esports VS. Team Heretics
Things just keep getting better for NOVO as they managed to qualify directly from the Winners Bracket again which included a convincing win against their Italian rival Reply Totem in the Qualifiers. A pretty nice revenge story for cutting them off last month, but there’s a chance they could meet again with the way the bracket is looking. Although this team isn’t looking the best in scrims lately, they should not be underestimated heading into this Monthly Final as they have shown to be capable of beating the best teams. Good thing they’re popping off at the right time as they have pretty decent control of the additional Worlds spot. If they manage to get on a deep run this month, they would have a pretty sizable lead against the teams below them and would get closer to snatching that final Golden Ticket to Tokyo. It is definitely doable, but it will be a tough challenge if you look at the team they’re facing first.
Team Heretics have finally returned with their old core back intact after an experiment with Nowy went wrong in June which set them back quite a ways. Subeme is making his return to the roster and has shown no signs of slowing down, but they did have a slight scare in the Qualifiers when they got swept by HMBLE and were put on the brink of elimination against SK Gaming. They have been grinding in their scrims and the results have shown in their attempt to take their Worlds spot back, but will they have enough juice to get back in control of a Worlds spot? A win against NOVO does put them ahead again, but a defeat could mean they’ll have to really consider choosing to risk it all in August or take the safe path of attending the Challengers LAN. That decision can wait until the results are finalized.
BIG VS. Reply Totem
BIG are both in their best shape they’ve ever been, but at the same time it has been making their decision a lot more difficult. Let’s start off with the good as BIG managed to qualify from Winners for the second straight month and against the best team in the world in FUT Esports; finally getting their revenge after an unfortunate defeat at their hands last month. Even better news is that they might actually have a chance to go on a deep run and will be the Dark Horse to sneak their way into the Grand Finals. What’s so bad about this you may ask? Well, BIG qualified for the Challengers LAN in Turkey already and didn’t expect to get so close to an LCQ spot. A win would literally put them in 6th which will put them in a position to claim the final LCQ spot and even a defeat against Totem puts them only 12 points behind NAVI who have been struggling mightily lately. It’s definitely going to be a tough decision no matter what happens to them this month. Would you take the risk with this core and abandon your Challengers spot or would you take the safe route and guarantee your team plays in a LAN?
This has definitely been one of the seasons of all time for Reply Totem, but they’re here once again after taking down one of their serious threats for a postseason spot in NAVI during the Qualifiers. With them out of their way for now, they’ll now have to take out teams like BIG, NOVO and Heretics if they want a chance to extend their lead. It has been a pretty rough year for the boys in green as they have been in a slump both before and after their Grand Finals run from last month. Despite their woes and very mixed results, they have an opportunity to somehow run away with a Worlds spot if they manage to sneak into the Grand Finals for a second straight month. While they do have a tough bracket ahead of them, they should hopefully be up for the challenge as even a single win could put them in a great position to just barely hold on to a Golden Ticket to Tokyo. If there was a time for them to lock in, it would be right now.
Predictions

Lucky's Notes
Let’s start with the upper half of the bracket which is definitely the easier one to predict. HMBLE & FUT Esports have pretty easy Quarter Finals opponents they should be able to sweep with ease. It’s unfortunate they have to face each other in the Semi Finals again and the last time they faced each other, it was just pure domination from FUT. I still believe FUT are the favorites to win this matchup with how unstoppable they look, but hopefully HMBLE puts up more of a fight this time. The lower half of the bracket however, that’s a half full of coin flips and uncertainty. NOVO have looked weak in scrims, but they are definitely capable of winning when it matters most. Heretics kept their matches close against weaker opponents in the Qualifiers, but they have a solid scrim win rate. BIG have been looking like a very scary team as of late, but they are still the weakest of the four in this half of the bracket. Totem did play well in the last Monthly Final and could go on another Finals run, but they have been very much inconsistent throughout most of the season to a point it’s kinda hard to trust them. I could maybe see TH have the best odds of making it to Grands, but I totally see all four of them making it so go with what your gut says and hope you’re correct. In the end, I don’t see how any of these teams will beat FUT who will still be my personal favorites to win it all.
