[APAC] Interview with Faze Zero

Rarely does a new team come to upset the balance of power, especially in a region of fierce favorites such as East Asia. But when second seed ZETA DIVISION dropped to the lower bracket in the first round, eyes turned. Faze Zero, a trio of players from day 1, have qualified to the Monthly Finals in style as the first team of their kind to qualify from a day 1 run. Telpny, れんのすけ, and former Frenzy Esports player Mira banded together to create one of the year's most exciting upsets ahead of the start of the Summer Split with 1.5x points in effect. Faze Zero breezed through ZETA DIVISION 3-1 in the first round of qualifiers after losing the first set, a dominant showing over one of the region's best. This momentum carried them forward to a 3-1 win over モングラール建築 and a fiercely contested 3-2 win over the newly signed IGNUM Esports. It was an astonishing performance for these lesser known/new players, but a strong showing that has placed them as one of the four upper bracket teams in this weekend's bracket.

With their first qualification of the year on the books, we caught a short glimpse into how Faze Zero is feeling ahead of the first Monthly Finals:

Q: How did you feel after defeating ZETA in day 2 of the Monthly Qualifiers? Do you think you can maintain this level headed into the Monthly Finals?

A: I'm happy we were able to win against Zeta. But we still had 2 more matches, so we couldn't relax. We are trying to maintain our performance and continue to improve.

How are you preparing for the Monthly Finals as a team of complete unknowns?

A: We are preparing by scrimming hard and fixing draft. And also analyzing our opponent using data from our analyst.

A: We'll keep working hard and do our best.
