The Summer Split has begun and the stakes have never been greater in this region. After failing to claim an additional Worlds & LCQ spot, the East Asia region is gonna be a fight to the death in the next three months. Only three teams will enter the postseason with the rest likely having to fight for a Challengers spot in either Japan or Korea next month. Some teams are aiming to further secure their postseason spot while others are fighting for their life to stay in the race. We’ll find out who comes out on top this weekend, but let’s introduce our teams real quick.

Crazy Raccoon VS. IGNUM Esports
After a Top 8 finish at the Brawl Cup, newly partnered org Crazy Raccoon are back in their home region attempting to three-peat as champions. They will likely be one of the favorites in this event to do so as they have been playing solid in scrims and look to have a pretty smooth sailing journey to the Grand Finals. Anything to get one step closer to remaining on top of East Asia.
IGNUM Esports however plans to put an end to their reign of terror across the region. These three have shown that they won’t be pushovers with their lone win back in March proving they can put up a fight against the best. We’ll also have to wait and see what cool cosplay Shigemyon will be wearing this time and if it’ll be enough to get them going on a run.
Faze Zero VS. Rival Esports
Faze Zero is our newest and most surprising team to see come from winners you’ll see this weekend. Faze might look a little new to most, but they do have a player with Monthly Final experience in Mira leading the way to hopefully continue their Cinderella run and play spoiler in this Monthly Final. If they can send ZETA DIVISION of all teams to the Losers Bracket in their Opening Match, they can beat anyone.
Rival Esports have been having a pretty alright season for the most part. A couple of Top 4 finishes and consistently making it to every Monthly Final is putting them on a good track record, but if they want to play more Brawl in the Fall, they’re gonna have to pull off an upset or two at some point during this split. For now though, they should focus on beating an underrated Faze team before dealing with the big boys deeper in the bracket.
SKCalalas EA VS. INSOMNIA
Rising slowly but surely to the top is SKC’s Japanese roster who have been looking like the team we were hoping they’d become at the start of the season. They closed out the Spring Split with a solid 2nd place finish beating ZETA and keeping it close with CR in the Finals which is a very good sign heading into the Summer Split. They currently have the best scrim by a narrow margin between the two teams ranked above them so there’s a good chance this could be the month they break out and claim a championship for once.
INSOMNIA has finally made it in back to back Monthly Finals, but their journey to get here wasn’t exactly easy as they were down 2-1 in their Do or Die Qualifying Match before taking the final two sets to clinch a spot this month. It doesn’t help that they’ll be going up against a tough opponent in SKC, but I’m sure they’ll still give it their all and maybe cause some chaos if they’re having a good day.
FENNEL VS. ZETA DIVISION
This will easily be the MUST WATCH match of the Quarterfinals as there is a lot at stake for both teams this month. For FENNEL, it’s to keep their postseason dreams alive as they haven’t been able to replicate the success they had back in February. Maybe things are looking brighter for this team as they did manage to qualify from Winners this time beating Rival in the process, but that might’ve been more of a curse than a blessing with who they’re facing.
ZETA DIVISION is aiming to keep their reputation as a legit championship contender alive after falling to 2nd on the leaderboards after a promising start to the season. Despite the Top 4 finish at Brawl Cup, they’ve looked a bit off lately with them getting sent to the Losers Bracket in Round 1 of the Qualifiers this month. They bounced back and still made it here, but this is still a little concerning. Hopefully this isn’t the beginning of a downward spiral for ZETA.
BSEN Predictions

Lucky's Notes
I would recommend taking Crazy Raccoon all the way to the Grand Finals at the very least. Their bracket just looks too good to not take them deep. Our predictors were torn between FAZE & Rival’s matchup, but I personally think Rival is still the favorite with their experience. SKC is a team I could very well see go on a deep run while I’m not so sure how I feel about ZETA or FL making it far. ZETA I could still see win the whole thing or at least place runner-up, but I wouldn’t be opposed to SKC winning it all either. Overall, I would say your safe bet would be to take CR all the way with SKC or ZETA as reasonable yet less favorable teams to win it all.
