East Asia August Monthly Final Bracket

We have arrived at the finale of the BSC regular season! With the Worlds spots already secured for our Top 2 teams, the lone LCQ spot remains up for grabs and is pretty much all but guaranteed to go to a certain team thanks to some chaos that occurred in the Qualifiers. There are also some notable teams like REJECT not competing in this finale due to them competing in the Challengers Event being held a month from now, but this should surely be a thrilling finale that will give some teams their first taste in a LAN setting. Hopefully things go more smoothly compared to what happened last time.

East Asia August Monthly Final Qualified Teams

ZETA DIVISION VS. Zero Mercy

• With the #1 Seed locked up already, ZETA will be looking to secure their third straight Monthly Final Championship and fourth overall as they attempt to further strengthen their resume as a legit threat for Worlds. While it wouldn’t be a perfect run this split considering they did lose to a team in the Qualifiers back in June, it would go down as one of the best runs we’ve seen in this region probably ever. Here’s to hoping they put on quite the show in their finale before they begin their prep for Worlds.

• For the first and only time this year in the East Asia region, we will be getting players competing from another country besides Japan or South Korea. Starting off with a solid run in Day 1, things looked grim after they fell to Rival in the First Round of Winners. What followed next was a surprising four match win streak that included a double match point victory over INSOMNIA. This group will be making their first ever Monthly Finals appearance and will make sure to show no mercy if they catch ZETA off their guard.

IGNUM Esports VS. FENNEL

• IGNUM have been the season killers this month as they pulled off a major upset against Rival in the Winners Bracket which would ultimately lead them to not qualifying in their following match. Their next target will be FENNEL who is essentially still alive in the LCQ race, but a defeat would knock them out of the race and send SKC to the LCQ a bit earlier. Regardless of the result, this has been a pretty solid season for IGNUM and the whole East Asia scene is looking forward to what they’ll do in 2027. But first, they have to take care of breaking FENNEL’s heart.

• FENNEL needed a miracle to stay alive in the LCQ race after a heartbreaking defeat to REJECT in the Challengers event gave them very little hope. So far their prayers have been answered as they could still sneak their way into the LCQ assuming they go on the run of their life with a bit of luck added. They need to win it all this month, but they also need SKC to lose in the Quarter Finals. Even if this doesn’t happen, FENNEL will still be looking to end the season on a high note by securing their first Monthly Final match win since their Grand Finals run in February. Might be a little too late, but miracles can happen if you believe in them hard enough.

Crazy Raccoon VS. T5S

• Good news and bad news. The good news is that Worlds is secured for Crazy Raccoon and they’ll be looking to defend their championship title once more. The bad news is that they’ll be positioned in the Group Stage round for Day 1 as it is impossible for them to be #1 by the end of this Monthly Final. Not much is on the line for them this month besides getting their LAN groove back after falling to ZETA in the Finals last month. It wouldn’t be the worst case scenario if they managed to lose to them again in the Finals, but it might not be the greatest look for them not winning a single Monthly Final throughout the Summer Split.

• The return of T5S was honestly pretty unexpected if you looked at who they had to face to get here. After SKC sent them to the Losers Bracket, they had to go on a three match win streak if they wanted to attend their second straight LAN event. They had to defeat two pretty decent teams before RIval got in their way, but surprisingly they became a pushover in their contest which ended in a sweep and became the final nail in the coffin to Rival’s unexpected end to their season. WIth them out of the way, it’s time to take on an even greater task of facing Crazy Raccoon. They might be tough, but they’ve beaten ZETA before so anything could happen.

SKCalalas EA VS. Frenzy

• There was a good chance we could’ve gotten an SKC VS. RVL Quarter Finals matchup this month, but Rival just ran out of gas and couldn’t make it past the Qualifiers. Although this doesn’t quite secure LCQ for this group, it certainly puts them in a much easier position to take it with their biggest threat out of the way. All SKC need to do is beat a team who had yet to qualify to a Monthly Final before this month and they’ll be heading to Guangzhou. Also fun fact, but SKC managed to become the only team from East Asia to make it through Winners in each Qualifier this year. The only thing that would make this month even better for them would be a deep run and a convincing victory against CR right before the LCQ.

• I guess you could say 6th times the charm, but Frenzy have finally made it to a Monthly Final. Five months of either falling short or simply not having enough left in the tank to make a deep push in Losers, but better late than never. If you followed BSC last year, you should probably know who Toridesu & Danshari are, but their latest recruit who joined at the start of the Summer Split in Ferkel will be making his Monthly Finals debut. Lots of eyes will be on him to see if he can be a promising player to look out for heading into 2027.

Lucky's Notes

For the most part, the East Asia region is going to be pretty predictable outside of a couple of matches in the later rounds. ZETA, CR and SKC should be able to breeze through their first opponent, but I could very well see IGM VS. FL ending in a nail biter. Despite the season being on the line for FL and them probably giving it their all, I think I might go with IGM here. I do still believe ZETA will reach another Grand Finals and CR should be able to take care of SKC, although that one could be a bit closer than we might think. Another ZETA VS. CR matchup is what I’m feeling we’ll get again and my gut is saying CR will split the LAN series by taking this Monthly Final and avoiding a near perfect Summer Split for ZETA.
